I am so excited for today's guest blogger! 

 She is such an awesome mommy with a down to earth way of parenting. She raises her son not by the books but by what her heart feels is best. She put no labels on herself and goes with the flow. Recently she went camping with her family and let her son be free with nature, she gave up on chasing him around and cleaning the dirt off of him constantly. I had to laugh because I envisioned myself doing the opposite. I would be fighting nature in its own elements.  I love reading Rhiannon's blog so much!

Hello friends! I am Rhiannon, a 28 year old mumma to one who lives down under in Australia. I have been reading Kelly's blog for a while now, and am excited to have the opportunity to do a guest post for her.

I myself started blogging about 6months ago. My main intention was to have a record somewhere of our day to day lives, and to share my interests with anyone who was curious enough to stop by. I love taking photos of our family, and I don't really have the space to print and store them all, so blogging is perfect for it!

So yes, I'm a mummy to little Cooper, almost 20months old. He is my world, and he knows it! He is a constant ball of energy, very rarely sits still, and the only time he does is if we put the Wiggles on for him! I admit that I do limit his TV time, but sometimes all I want is a shower, and it is the only way to ensure he stays in one safe place! (he has started climbing, I recently found him in the bookcase - scary).

I married my best friend, Dale. We were friends for three years in high school, and it wasn't until school ended that we finally fell in love. It has almost been ten years now, and while I am the first to admit that so much has changed between us, our love is only stronger. Some days he drives me completely insane, but still makes me so happy.

I feel that becoming a mother has opened my eyes to so many new things, externally and within myself. My patience is now tested on a daily basis, how far can one little munchkin push you ask.... far!!! In those times I have learnt that I need to take a breath and breathe out slowly. A bit of food on the floor is not the worst thing in the world, it can be cleaned!

"Patience is a virtue" - this quote is so underrated!

I have learnt that being a mum isn't easy, especially in the first few months. People will throw so much information at you, and you have to choose what stays with you and what will pass on by. To some my parenting is odd, to others it is the norm. I have learnt that every mother parents a little different, and this is a positive thing. Every child is unique and requires parenting that suits them.

As Cooper moves into toddlerdom, I regularly look at our practice of parenting. I wore him as a baby, keeping him close by. He slept in a bassinet by my bed until he was six months old. He spent almost a year following this co-sleeping with me at some stage during the night. We have never used control crying, and never plan too. While I don't think we attachment parent, I think "Gentle Parenting" describes our family values and what we aspire well.

Every day is different, everyday is new, everyday brings so many more smiles into my family. Not everyday is bliss, but when it isn't I choose to remember the ones that were, and the ones that are still to come.
